			<description><![CDATA[ I went yarn shopping today at Windsor Button downtown Boston.. My boy, who also knits, bought yarn to make the hoodie from the Sally Melville Purl Stitch book. Well, he bought 14 skeins of Araucania Nature Cotton Yarn, which purports to have a yardage of 165 per skein.<br>The yarn store lady warned us that it was low on yardage, she said maybe 110 and not 165. We got home and wound it on our niddy noddy, and by our calculations, this is about 87 yards, almost half of what the labels says! How... ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ can you fix a splintered needle? ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ hello.<br><br>I'm a new knitter. I just made the mistake of purchasing some size 11 bamboo circular needles from Crystal Palace.  I won't be doing that again.  Within minutes I'd discovered that  my needles have splinters! Small, but enough to cause snags in the tape yarn I've been using.  From reading online, I've found I'm not the only one who has had this problme.<br>Does anyone have any advice on how I might repair the splinters?  I was thinking about coating it with a little fingernail... ]]></description>
